Our Mares are the legs we stand on. Midnight Star Stables is home to Joy and Cat, our only miniature horse mares. Joy is a lovely young mare that we have high hopes for and Cat our broodmare beauty. We have high hopes to bred loud black and white overos with these girls. First foal expected 2009.

Joy is all heart and personallity plus. Joy has been on our showstring from the beginning and has since proven herself an asset in all areas. Master of halter and showmanship, Joy loves to compete. Recently trained in jumper and hunter we look forward to teaching her to drive for 2009. Joy has shown that a Canadian bred miniature can hold there own against all North American miniatures. Thank you Sandra Bucknell for this great mare.
We are also eager to see what Joy will produce when crossed with one of our favorite LWO+ frame overo stallions.

Cat is my dream horse. I'll I have ever wanted was a loud black overo in miniature. Cat is a gorgeous mare with beautiful high stepping animated movement. Her trot is breath taking. On top of remarkable self, she also has a very impressive pedigree. She is a paternal sister to the worlds most internationally recogonized overo stallion LTD's Magic Man, they both share the same famous sire Shredder. Cat's dam is the renound Samples Tadita, a loud Grullo MH Frame Overo mare who foaled many overos. She is also related to the well known LTD's Two-Tone Trigger and LTD's Todasco Cat. And not only that but Cat also is a Granddaughter of Sample, IMO the greatest miniaute overo horse. Sample help create LTD, Van Lo, Miller and many other overo farms desired breeding.
She is currently being bred to La Vista He's The Remarkable Man for a 2009 foal, an outstanding stallion owned by Janet Hughes of Hells Canyon Ranch.

Vision is our new driving mare. Will be shown in the 2008 year. Great action on this little mare. She is a GT daughter from the JEM breeding line. She was shown in 2006 by AKB Stables. She was 2006 AMHR Canadian Multi Colour A Champion, and 2006 AMHR Canadian Top Ten in A Yearling Mares. A HUGE thank you to Amy Keith and her family for allowing us to purcash her! Also, we would really like to thanks Lori Rafter again. Lori has trained our new mare to drive through out the spring, to have her ready to show by June. Vision will be shown in Halter, Colour, Hunter, Jumper and Single Pleasure Driving in the 2008 show season. She may also show in the USA in 2008 at the AMHR Area 2 show and Nationals. We will have Vision get her AMHR HOF in driving and possibly in halter too. Vision currently has 4 AMHR Halter HOF points. Vision will be breed to Mini Brooks Painted Donovan Sky in 2009 in hopes for a 2010 foal. New pictures will come May, when it is warm enough to clip.
Due to unexpected changes, we had desided to offer Vision for sale. She has found the perfect home, and we are very happy for her and her new owners!
